Church Mission, Community & Belief
Knowing Christ through understanding his message
Eucharistic Adoration
- This is the wonderful truth, my dear friends: the Word, which became flesh two thousand years ago is present today in the Eucharist. (St John Paul II)
- Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament has His hands full of graces, and He is ready to bestow them on anyone who asks for them. ( St Peter of Alcantara)
- “Do not, therefore, regard the Bread and the Wine as simply that; for they are, according to the Master’s declaration, the Body and Blood of Christ. Even the senses suggest to you the other, let faith make you firm….. Having learned these things, and being fully convinced that the apparent Bread is not bread, even though it is sensible to the taste, but the Body of Christ; and that the apparent Wine is not wine, even though the taste would have it so,….” (St. Cyril Of Jerusalem (315 to 386)
Church Belief
- The Christian Creed – the profession of our faith in God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and in God’s creative, saving, and sanctifying action – culminates in the proclamation of the resurrection of the dead on the last day and in life everlasting (CCC 988)
Church Mission
- The Church’s mission, directed to all men and women of good will, is based on the transformative power of the Gospel. ….Let us never forget that “being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a Person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction” (BENEDICT XVI, Deus Caritas Est, 1).
(Message from the Holy Father for World Mission Sunday 2017)
Church Community
- The human person needs to live in society. Society is not for him an extraneous addition but a requirement of his nature. Through the exchange with others, mutual service and dialogue with his brethren, man develops his potential; he thus responds to his vocation. ( ccc 1879)
