Do you want a deep prayer life?
Advent: The Battle for Silence
Father Patrick Hydes lecture is thought provoking and invites us this Advent to go to silence to sit with the Lord. He quotes a beautiful latin saying:
” Nemo dat quod non habet”
This translates nobody gives what they don’t have. It is used in legal circles but also has significant meaning in the spiritual. If you don’t have the voice of the holy spirit, the love of the Lord in silence we are not giving to our families ,to our church and to our greater community what they need… Jesus.
Spend time practising Heaven this advent season before the Blessed Sacrament. Spend time with Jesus allow him to come to you , to your heart to speak to you.
So what is this Advent Season?
The word Advent is from the Latin adventus for “coming”. Saint John Gospel tells us “The Word became Flesh and made His dwelling among us, and we have seen His glory: The glory of an only Son coming from the Father, filled with enduring love” (John 1:14).
During Advent, the Church calls us to clean our rooms, clean the house within, and sets aside special times for increased prayer and worship.
God is inviting you to enter into a life more fully with Him.
Will you respond or are you too busy to engage the source of all life because of wordy affairs?
