Easter Message 2020 from Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP

The Resurrection of the Body

Easter at Home

The Coronavirus has disrupted our regular communal prayers . Below is  and excerpt from  Cardinal Beniamino Stella in an article from the Crux gives  light and direction to persisting with even more prayer  which is greater intimacy with the Lord in our the home during this isolation.

“Citing an excerpt from Alessandro Manzoni’s experience about the plague in his book The Betrothed, Stella said he personally found comfort in the author’s statement that “God never disturbs the joy of his children except to send a greater joy.”

“I found this expression truly consoling for our lives,” he said. “I believe that in the absence of rites, of physical participation, we must find in these circumstances a profound way of greater intimacy with the Lord to communicate with the church, with the sacraments.”

“Accept the risen Jesus into your life. Even if you have been far away, take small steps towards him. He awaits you with open arms.”
Pope Francis 2013
