The Safeguarding and Ministerial Integrity Office has recently developed new Safeguarding Module Training for all working in Parishes of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney.
The first module we are currently running is National Catholic Safeguarding Standards. You may be aware the Catholic Professional Standards Limited ( CPSL recently developed 10 National Catholic Safeguarding Standards which have been designed to ensure that safeguarding practices across the Catholic Church in Australia are consistent and appropriate.
The 10 National Catholic Safeguarding Standard are base don the 10 standards identified by the Royal Commission into Institutional Repsponses to Child Sexual Abuse and are expected to be applied to all Catholic Church Entities in Australia ( including St Bernadette’s). In 2019 CPSl will be auditing Catholic Church Entities in Australia to see if the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards are being met, these audits will be made public via CPSL website.
The safeguarding Module” National catholic Safeguarding Standards will look at:
- What are the 10 national Catholic Safeguarding Standards
- Why have CPSL developed these standards
The new dates for this new Safeguarding Training module are below.
All training will be conducted at Polding Centre Level 5 Sydney. See map below. YOu must have completed Level1 safeguarding Training before registering for the new safeguarding modules if you have not yet completed Level 1 Safeguarding Training please contact anna.sammut@sydenycatholic.org
